Another win for PHRA members - The Brambles

The Pollards Hill perennial development site at 18 Pollards Hill West, has been refused by development management of Croydon’s local authority, following the end of the public consultation period. (further details on our Planning page)

We looked at the scheme and we agreed with the resident members, the scheme was inappropriate. The reasons for refusal are plentiful and the scheme can be adequately summed up as, not policy compliant.

Congratulations and a huge thanks must go to the resident members who worked on the detailed technical objections and to those of you who submitted your comments during the public consultation period.

A special Thank you to Cllr Neal, Chair of Planning, for the swift Chairs referral of interest and to our local Cllr Griffith, for his offer to speak at committee, on our behalf.

Lastly a thank you to the development management team @ Croydon, often vilified for doing their jobs, that took the time to carefully consider the public consultation comments and form the only logical conclusion, scheme refusal.

18 Pollards Hill West - The Brambles - new planning application

A warning message about car theft in Pollards Hill area

Recently, a high-end car was stolen overnight from a driveway on PHN. The owner thought that residents should be made aware of such thefts in the area. She added that she had taken precautions of having the key in RIIF pouches and also then in a metal container but somehow the thieves managed to take the car.  Police advised her that in future to just order high range Air tags and hide one in the car so at least it can be tracked via your phone.

Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) advice from Community Trading Standards about Weight Watcher scams

With the new year may come the resolution to lose some weight, and there are lots of companies out there that will try to take advantage of this. This Community Notice is a warning about the 'companies' that do this with no easy way to contact and make a complaint.

If you feel like you have been taken advantage of by one of these companies, please contact Action Fraud.
