Pollards Hill Park Viewpoint (Southerly direction)
This panoramic photograph was taken from the viewpoint at Pollards Hill Park in April 2023. A light 4 knot north westerly wind brought in a clear air mass, producing the long range visibility that is often absent during the summer months, when a thin inversion haze typically softens the horizon.
Croydon’s town centre high rises are visible on the skyline. Ten Degrees, the world’s tallest modular housing scheme completed in 2021, and Europe’s tallest modular building, currently under construction, sit almost entirely behind Saffron Square’s Pinnacle Tower, the distinctive blue, purple and pink structure. Centrally positioned are the 300 foot IKEA towers, the remaining Victorian power station chimneys that form a well known local landmark.
